Sunday in Denver

So I came to Denver on Friday for a weekend of girl time with one of my best friends. Laura and I have been friends for like 20 years now, which is really quite amazing to me. The workshop I was going to teach in Seattle was cancelled and since I had to re-book plane tickets and I needed a Saturday stay over for a good price, I just decided to come to Denver early to hang out with her and her family. So we had a great dinner on Friday night, took in a local yoga class yesterday, did some shopping and a pedicure together and then had dinner with Julie her sister- also a friend of mine and a rep for Be Present clothing. (By the way, she loaned me a pair of their bamboo intention pants to practice in yesterday and I must say they are some of the most comfortable practice pants I have ever worn. )

Both Laura and Julie are yoga enthusiasts and so we have gotten to talk a lot about yoga, the Denver yoga scene and it has been quite interesting to hear their perspectives on the trends and the different methods and teachers they have studied with. Not much to report other than silly details of my personal R&R. I am looking forward to the Certified Teacher's Gathering that starts on Monday. I will be there for only two days, but already the time is jam packed with great stuff. I will be home on Wednesday for the 4:30 class at Breath and Body Yoga, so please come see me there.

Thursday is my 40th Birthday Party and Practice at Breath and Body Yoga. We start the pracitce at 6:30 and will have some cake (vegan tres leches!) and a toast around 8:30 or so. Please come celebrate with me. And plan to come for Thursday evening practices this summer. Group practices are really one of the best ways to grow your practice. In a group practice, as opposed to a class, we have lots of time, group energy and focus and so we can really explore poses off the basic syllabus. It is one of my favorite was to help people advance in their practice.

This weekend I am at YogaYoga teaching a workshop. It would be really great to see some familiar faces there. I am excited to be scheduling some things close to home these next few months and would love some local support in my efforts. This is an excellent workshop for those of you who teach to get your students to come to. It is very use friendly and will really help people understand the method and will help take the mystery out of some of our lingo.

Also, please plan on attending and help me spread the word about The Alchemy of Yoga weekend workshop that Craig and I are teaching at Castle Hill on May 30 and 31. I will be teaching two asana classes and he will be giving a lecture and our theme is Shiva/Shakti. His talk is going to center around some fascinating mythology and iconography and we will be weaving the idea of "bringing spirit to life in what matters most" throughout the weekend. I am really excited about it. As many of you know, Craig is an inspiring teacher and practitioner and this is subject matter that is directly relevant to anyone who practices yoga, but especially to those of us in Anusara Yoga.
